Come underground with us deep into the abandoned mines of Snowdonia on a half-day adventure trip you'll never forget! We offer two different experiences - if you're interested in learning about the local mining industry, its people and seeing how the mines operated, then our Discovery Trip is for you. Or - if you're looking for an action-packed underground adventure with a series of roped activities (such as abseils, scrambles and zip lines) to get the adrenaline pumping, then take our Challenge Trip! Wales was once one of the great mining centres of the world with literally thousands of mines in operation during Victorian times, extracting everything from Gold to Coal and from Slate to Lead. Some mines were extremely deep running thousands of feet below the level of the sea. Others were dauntingly vast employing countless men in a network of sprawling tunnels hundreds of miles in length. Some are so old they even date back to the Bronze Age. Each mine is steeped in history and tells a story of boundless human skill and endeavour. Once busy and noisy industrial centres, the great old mines of Wales now lie silent and dark, all but forgotten by the modern world.

We run two half-day trips every day of the year with a maximum of eight people per trip. Each trip is either a Challenge Trip or a Discovery trip, the exact schedule varies on demand but generally we run the Challenge trip in the morning, and the Discovery trip in the afternoon. We provide special trips periodically (or as requested) including full day multiple-mine adventures, short taster trips, and photography-specific trips. Please ask us for details.
It is essential to book in advance over the phone (we cannot accept visitors on-spec). The further in advance you can book the better, to secure your place(s) on your trip of preference.
