Snowdonia Half Marathon 6 April 2014
A scenic Half Marathon set in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, starting and finishing in the village of Llanrwst which played host to the World Trail Running Championships in 2013. The park is a region of haunting beauty and grandeur, of wild rocky mountains, hidden valleys, cascading rivers, still glacial lakes and deep forests.
2014 sees the third running of this very scenic race, there were 700 runners who took part in the 2013 race, feedback suggests everyone enjoyed the race with lots of comments about the tough hill in the middle, but they said that it made the course a challenge and gave them a sense of achievement. Oh and the special medal went down well. (Forrest Hill Non Stop)
This year we intend to make this Half Marathon not just a great race but a great event, we are working with the local community to ensure your race day or weekend is memorable and encourages you to return year on year. RunWales are proud of the events we organise, with the emphasis on the runners enjoyment of the whole event, this is what we expect as runners and so will provide for you.
A slight change to the course this year following feedback from runners, its seems it should be a little more challenging given the name “Snowdonia Half Marathon” so we have listened and oh yes it is now more challenging, we have taken out the Betws y Coed section and re-routed you after Lake Geirionydd back down to near Gwydyr Castle and then back up to the top and down the hill you get a medal for, good luck guys, you’ll need it!!!
You will leave Llanrwst on 6th April 2014 and tell your Family, Friends and Colleagues “I did it, I completed the Snowdonia Half Marathon”

Snowman Triathlon 2014
Sunday 5 October 2104
The 2013 Snowman Triathlon was a truly epic event. This is undoubtedly one of the toughest triathlons in the whole of the UK, but is also almost definitely the most stunning!
So, if you are a triathlete and think you are tough then the Snowman is for you! The run up Moel Siabod is possibly the most incredible run on any triathlon route in the country. The setting at Plas y Brenin is truly iconic, this is possibly the most beautiful view in the World!
The Snowman trail triathlon will be held on Sunday 5th October 2014, it will be the third in the Always Aim Tri series that starts with the classic Snowdonia Slateman, then the beautiful Anglesey Sandman and culminating with the amazing Snowman.
The Snowman race venue will be Plas y Brenin in Capel Curig, the start and finish set in the awe inspiring Snowdonia National Park , the surrounding mountain scenery along the race route is stunning. This event offers a challenge for everyone!
You can compete in the Snowman as an individual or as a relay team of three. We can't guarantee snow.....but maybe!
The inaugural Snowdonia Marathon was held in 1982, and was conceived as a dramatic alternative to the numerous city and town races becoming so popular. The demanding and spectacular route, encircling Snowdon, Wales’ and England’s highest peak, has given the event a unique place in the annual marathon calendar ever since.
In a 2011 poll by Runners World Magazine, the Snowdonia Marathon was voted the best Marathon in the UK for the second time. This is somewhat ironic since it is also regarded as one of the most difficult! Our success has been credited to three things; the beautiful scenery, the runners that organise the race and the hospitality of the local people. The 2012 race will be the 30th Snowdonia Marathon and the biggest so far – little did we realise in 1982 how popular the event would become. For further details click here. Snowdonia Marathon
