Speeds can pass 100mph, roughly 500ft above the old slate workings. Four parallel lines let you race friends or family side by side. A shorter warm up run settles any nerves before the main descent. The whole experience takes about two hours, including a truck ride up the mountain track. Penrhyn Quarry sits around 15 miles from Betws-y-Coed, so allow about twenty minutes on the road. Riders need a minimum height of 1.2m to take part.
Titan and Bounce Below: beneath Blaenau Ffestiniog’s slate caverns
A shorter drive takes you to Llechwedd Slate Caverns near Blaenau Ffestiniog. It is roughly eleven miles away, about fifteen minutes by car. This is home to Zip World Titan.
